gold seal engine colour

has anybody achieved a good match yet??
everybody i see who has tried to replicate it has failed dismally

im gonna try and get a formulation tomorrow

is anybody else sharing my interest or am i just mad?

If i had a original gold seal part in front of me at work i could properly match the colour

Pretty good at matching paint :P

I think I still have a gold seal rocker cover if it's of any use to someone for colour matching.

this gold seal engine in my 1960 aint got much colour left on it.....be good for us all if i can get a perfect match.

can i borrow the cover please ,uncle mark ?

getting a formula in single pack direct gloss metallic is the tricky bit..as these werent obviously basecoat...:-)

I don't think your mad but your question brought up a question of my own.

I assume your question about the engine color is because your goal is originality. Gold Seal engines were factory rebuilds/replacements weren't they? If your goal is originality why paint the engine the "original replacement color"? Why not paint the engine BMC green so the engine appears to be original to the car as opposed to the engine being "an original factory replacement engine"?

I am not trying to make any digs here, the color choice is clearly your personal decision. I am just curious why you would want a replacement engine painted to identify it as a replacement.
