Very similar to the ones shown on some pre-production Minis. Some Austin A30 or A35s used them.

As far as I know these were used on some of the early models. I believe 60/61 ish, they were indeed borrowed off another car by BMC however I can't remember which one. Bill ought to be able to shed some more light on the subject.
