Hello all,
My name is Luis and i'm obviously a minimaniac, i'm one more from Portugal and since long i'm following the forum from time to time, finding it highly interesting and healthy .
Just now i decided to register, and whenever relevant hoping to participate!
I have the mini bug for some time ( 2000, when i got my first mini ready to go) , since then every year i became more "dependent" , and with less room in my garage . I own 3 mk3/4 minis one of them undergoing a full rebuild to Mk1 lookalike . Have also an Mk1 998 Cooper and a windowless ( sort of ) Uk van, both in very bad shape , hopefully these will see the daylight one day.
Thanks for your great forum.
Best regards
Luis

Re: Newbie from "Overseas"
Welcome to the forum Louis,
Sounds like you have a few interesting projects on the go.
Was the Cooper originally sold in Portugal or was it imported at a later date?
Regards,
mark

Re: Newbie from "Overseas"
Thanks Mark,
i'll put some shots of them soon,
the Cooper , according to MCR was a CKD car build in Portugal, it is one of the last Mk1's dated July 67 .
I managed to track down the second owner and he assured me the car was monotone ( red ) from factory, something apparently common with CKD cars built here. Not sure also about the trim, as i was told CKD cars would differ, i'm still trying to get old pics of the car.
Cheers
