Longman??
I bought a mk1 some years ago, and with the car it was a big load of parts. Most of them was crap, but I also found a Speedwell sprint kit, Speedwell rockers and some mkII Cooper parts. I also got this cylinder head who clearly have got some work. Can someone please tell me anything about it?? I recon its 16,4 cc chambers, and the numbers are in the same fashion as Longman heads I have seen

Re: Longman??
Yup, Looks like a late-ish (approx early 1970's) Downton head to me too.
Not easy to say much more without a look at the chambers.
Probably road going though as it has the "standard" combustion chamber size of 16.4cc
A very nice find.

Re: Longman??
Most probably either a No51 conversion, similar to this one;
Or a No39 (Stage II) for twin H4 1 1/2" SU's at 99/5/6

More pics of the head
A little surface rust in the ports, but i think it will clean up nice with a little albow grease

Re: Longman??
Certainly looks like a road going one to me, and it's in very, very good condition too.

Re: Longman??
Great Took it to work today and cleaned it and put a lick of paint, all in the lunch time of course It cleaned up well, so I will chuck it on the Morris 1300 later today as the head is already off because of broken head gasket.
What carbs should I use?? I have the choice of twin hs2 on Speedwell manifoil or single hs4

Re: Longman??
Oh the two, a single HS4 is probably the best bet, but it could easily use twin 1 1/2" carbs.
