Ant that's horrible news, I hope the police are actually taking it seriously, it's a pretty distinctive car nowadays.
Make sure you let the Mini Cooper Register know.
I'm near Old Street so will keep my eyes peeled. Brings back memories of my white MK2 S that was stolen from SE26 about 8 years ago, I was nearly physically sick when i saw she was gone. Miss her badly.
Fingers crossed for you.

P.S. not quite in the same league but a friend had a MK2 Escort stolen from just down the road. It turned up a few days later about 500 meters away behind a council estate - so there is hope!

Christ on a bike!
I find this sort of thing sickening.
I suppose it's unsurprising, given the nature of ebay. I'm sure if I had a few hundred quid, I could get a V5 off ebay before it was removed and get minispares to make up some plates and then get it exported.
I remember being a bit naive when I (in 03) paid £800 for my Morris SDL which turned out to be a lot of cornflakes packets and filler. I was very very concerned about losing all of my money. When I ebayed it about a year after, I got £1800 for all of it. Ebay is a fantastic way of selling stolen stuff and there is nothing anyone can do about it. "Been in my shed for years, guv"

....Feckers !!!... when I recently renewed my insurance I was given a bottle of special fluid to mark all of the cars bits and bobs from body work to engine, gearbox, carbs, wheels etc etc everything !! it has a unique bar code stored re my records so in the event of car theft and being broken up at least we could possibly I.D parts if found/offered for sale by forensic evidence... they also supply window/screen stickers "THIEVES BEWARE.FORENSIC CODED i.D PROTECTED"....!!!... I suppose anything helps ???... hope its returned to u and they catch the shits !!! but if its kids slap on wrist and let go with a ticking off !!!!...does not bear thinking about to equiv punishment 60-70 years ago !!!.. that's Liberal life eh ??? foxy52

Very sorry to hear this.
I have posted a link in the Mini Forum who have a dedicated area of their forum for stolen Mini reports as they are now so common in UK.
http://www.theminiforum.co.uk/forums/to ... ?p=3063636
With all the recent publicity and TV programmes the downside is every man and his dog now knows or thinks a classic Mini Cooper is worth 25k+. and easy to steal.......if you wish to use a Mini as an everyday car and leave it unattended these days, it really is necessary to invest in fitting a professional 'Tracker' device as approved by the Police.

...totally agree MAB... that's the downside of the publicity old minis are now getting ie... cars that rock ,cars the star etc etc......shame there are people who think nothing about stealing others posessions...a nation of people with no moral fibre, lack of respect and self discipline.. I could go on !!! makes me seethe !!!!.. foxy52

There's not too many S/H Mini bits suppliers in London are there(?), worth letting any potential unsuspecting purchasers of parts know in advance, there's enough eyes about on the internet to make stealing a car like that a pretty dumb move I reckon.
Good luck getting it back mate.
