Hello new guy here. My project is a very early 1960. I ordered the heritage cert to get all the info. I do know its ship date was Jan 21 1960 and has many 59 features on it. We got it to do a VTEC but were convinced to restore it. Ill post build photos as we go.

Hi & welcome inhere
If the car is a early non recessed screens shell ? then DONT do the custom trick, find another, and keep this one original.

Yep it's non recessed glass. The glass date code is 4q59. It has the 59 style gas tank no front drains in the gutters, no gutter extension, single hole glass, no inner a panel service letter mod. One of the guys from the 59 mini forum looked it up at the heritage museum to get the ship date. He said its right on the cusp of the 59/60 change over

That looks like a terrific find!
A nice fairly straight bona fine 59 by the sounds of it.
It is of course your car & you should feel no qualms about what you choose to do with it, but it will be quite a rare & valuable little baby if it's restored back to standard.
I remember seeing a car like that in South Africa, the owner decided to fill it with Concrete & turn it into one these "Sound Off" boom boxes. He did exactly that, even when I told him how valuable his little car was. Each to their own I guess.
I look forward to following your progress.

The title says 1960 and one of the guys at the 59 mini web site looked it up and its a 1960 but right at the switch over. Its going to be a fun Dad & kids project. I like looking at the builds here and other sites to motivate us. Its supposed to be that blue color when we are done I wish they made other choices back then but blue will have to do.
