Just bought a 64 smooth roof van in Australia someone has done a rear seat conversion they've cut the rear floor but there was no seat or remains the question is how many different types of conversions are there and it also had this dealers plate on the door step

That looks like a very nice little project!

The rear seat conversions were incredibly common in the 60's as it saved a small fortune in Purchase tax as "Commercial vehicles"were exempt at that time.

The most well known conversion was the Restall one, http://mk1-performance-conversions.co.uk/restall_2.pdf , but I am sure there will have been lots of others.

Great project!
UK built vans must be pretty rare in Australia. I guess a handful will have crept in as private imports.

I'll uncover it and get more pics weather permitting I'm in too minds whether to put a rear seat back or put the metal floor back and take the side windows out

I look forward to following your restoration. There are pro's & con's of both courses of action, I look forward to seeing which route you decide on.

I saw this cute little van at the weekend, It's going to be a great resto.

Brocade is the man for the job, looking forward to the progress mate! 8-)

UK vans are rare in Aus, found out some pics from a 62 from Oz40 in Qld.

Looks like your seat conversion......
