Ive a 998cc engine in bits i bough some time ago in a job lot of cooper s bits and bobs.
The previous owner briefly stated it was a ex works 997 cooper engine.
but ive looked and its not a 997cc its a pre A plus 998cc.
quickly looking at its bits it has plus .20 d shaped pistons, steel center main strap 12g127 rods and a aeg601 crank

can anyone shed any light on these cranks

found this on google

ST used to do a crank for Mini Miglia when it first started at 1000cc. The crank being made from normal production steel could not be nitrided, not being EN40B like an S crank. So it was Tuftrided to do the same job.

Special Tuning also produced a batch of 998 cranks in EN 40B :ugeek:
