Homemade and at a guess they've lost the emulsion tube covers.

Early Longman splits used fabricated steel manifolds, but these don't look quite right. Throttle cable system is all wrong. Remove the extra spring on the inside of the linkage, the extra load can twist the spindle at the pump jet lever. Any extra springs must be fitted at the linkage attachment on the spindle. The locating for the manifold/ head face is all wrong for Longman system. But you do have the correct Weber type, 13s.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
After starting the disassembly, they do appear to be somewhat homemade. The right hand side carb that has been cut for clearance hasn't been done very neatly at all! I'll be tidying it up before reassembly of course.
The homemade plate for the throttle cable and return spring is most definitely being binned also. The mounting faces for the manifolds are a bit of mystery, but the manilfolds are of a decent standard.
The cleaning and painting will commence this evening along with an order for some new parts!
Does anybody know what size trumpets will fit with my standard bulkhead? I know this is dependent on the manifold length, but I'd be amazed if they weren't an identical length to the Longman items.

It's not been chain drilled, like the manifold flange has it

Open to correction, but I think the 13 indicates that they can be jetted correctly for a Mini.

You are right, 13's are the best ones for a Mini, it has something to do with the pump jet outlet configuration.

Not claiming to know much about all this. I do love the Weber carbs and tend to buy more than I need. I have a set of Longman Splits that were set up and shipped direct to me from Longman back in the mid 70s. They are a pair of 45 DCOE 13s. I have found that a lot of engine builders are looking for the 45 DCOE 9s. It does seem to have to do with the location of the progression holes. I have had people ask I remove the little brass plug and take pictures of the holes on all 16 of my 45s. I buy them strip and clean adding new gaskets and seals.
Just looking it appears someone had added air cleaners not correct for the carbs. If the air cleaner blocks the vent for the float chamber the lid must be removed to vent. Not sure how well those will fit a std fire wall. I have only used mine on cars with a custom air box in the bulkhead. I do have the Longman super air horns and a very large air cleaner. Steve (CTR)

Thanks for the info Steve.
I'm reluctant to do anything with my bulkhead so I definitely won't be running the filters that came with set up. The car is mainly a track car so hopefully I'll get away with just a pair of trumpets.

Shouldn't as the suffix number only affects the tickover drillings.
