Maps, start & finish venues, etc., tbc but the event will run to the same format as in 2013, with special tests during the daytime preceding the traditional 'half-nighter' through the lanes after dark and pub finish. Quick update on progress with this event. Start and finish venues identified and booked. Test venues also identified and drawings showing each of the individual test layouts, timings, etc. prepared for the MSA to approve. Half a dozen tests planned including some at venues that've not been used previously by any event and should prove very enjoyable for crews. The organisers certainly had a good time driving them a few weeks back.
Route just gone to the RLO for approval. Thanks to all those that've showed interest in doing the event thus far.
Cheers,
Niall.

Another quick update - RLO approved the route so it can now go to the MSA along with the test diagrams. Route takes in some interesting roads on maps 87 and 88, including a lot previously unused by the event, whcih should prove exciting for crews. Regs nearly there, just a few more things to clarify before they can go up on the rally website, facebook page, the various forums, etc. Will also be available from me at the Croft Nostalgia/HSCC race meet at Croft Circuit this weekend - just catch me on the MCR stand at the event. Rally organisers meeting planned for next Tuesday.
Cheers,
Niall.

Looking at the entry list it appears that half the entry is from the Midlands with a couple from Essex. Where are all the local entrants, I suspect they are marshalling? Niall and his team put a great deal of effort into the route, preparing the route cards for all standards of competitor as we have experienced for a few years now. They work very hard to provide an excellent route for all standards of Mini enthusiasts and deserve a bigger entry list. An event well worth supporting. Come on, you know you want to have fun.
See more of you at the event. Cliff

Hi Cliff,
I'm not sure there are too many rally men/women on this forum, but nervertheless appreciate the call to arms! But yeh, we're very grateful to the Midlands and Essex folk for supporting the event and helping keep rallying alive within the club. As far as local entries are concerned, we're not a big region and do have quite a few of the members tied up with the marshalling but are expecting a few more to enter, including some completely new both to the event and the sport, which is nice.
Finally, for now, we would like to thank all the members of the local motor clubs who are also due to marshal on it. It takes a heck of a lot people to run an event like this and without them it just wouldnt happen - cheers guys!
Niall.

I'd second all of that, am hoping to assemble a Midlands/Sussex entry shortly, not nailed on yet though...
Definitely a good afternoon and evening's motorsport and the novice class means just that - anyone can take part and enjoy it; if you've never tried it give it a go!

Really enjoyed this event when I did it (first time navving), despite blowing chunks all over the county. If you've not had a go, give it a try, I didn't have a clue really and we didn't go OT! BUT navs take note, don't eat a full meal just before you set off!
You could get more entries if you let variants and mutants enter Niall!

Often been mooted Pete (mostly by you
) but we don't want to dilute the event and it helps from a PR point of view to just have 'mini coopers'. That, and we're only talking the odd car, which wouldn't make that much difference anyway. No, there are plenty of minis out there, it's just getting folk to dip their toes in the water and you don't even need anything fancy - my brother-in-law and IslandBlue on here got second overall last year in a bog standard Mini Studio 2!
Niall. PS What's happened to Mr Archer these days - these tests we're running ought to be right up his street nes pas?!
