Craigs Plates give you the choice of font and white or silver letters:-
"Also please note : ALL self adhesive plates will be made using the font NEW Charles Wright (post September 2001), if you want the old style font (Charles Wright), then please tick the notes section and state your requirements in there. What's the difference? The old style font is fatter and will fit a plate end to end if you have a full 7 characters without any 1's or I's. New Charles Wright is slimmer to allow for a badge to be put on the plate - the so called Euro Plate."

just go to your local van stickering / sign makers and get them to do it - they will have the proper outdoor uv stable vinyl's and it will be a doddle for them to do it.

the place near me make all of mine, using a perfect font that looks bob on - I get them done with creame letters as it looks miles better than white

see the photos of my plates in my gtm thread

I hate plates on classic cars that have been made using the Charles wright 2 font - when I get in power it will be an endorsable offence

my grandad fitted a bonnet number plate to smoke grey "cwe" in the early 70s..
ive now refitted the early 70s quilted dash with accessories.i now think the bonnet number plate is the way to go now..
not sure on the tapered "1600e cortina colour" gold stripes on the bonnet though???

it also had a centre exit exhaust but i chickened out and fitted an rc40 :D

i have no faith in the vinyl specialists in sheffield..
most of them are useless fred in the shed "fly by nights" or the big brand boys who want a massive "tooling fee"!!

Imagine if there was someone on here that used to own a sign company, that from the age of 16 was a sign writer and lettering designer , that is just about to get his old boys to make up some stick on number plates for his old rally car - old fashioned style ones

Hmm

Oh i know, i know

Its that PAD chap

I have just ordered a set for my Cooper from The Number Plate Centre Ltd. at the Race Retro show www.numberplatecentre,com The guy there told me the correct font to use but gave me the choice of silver or white letters, I chose white. I will let you know if they look right when they arrive, Cost was £25 for two but I don't have the skill or the inclination to do it myself. Value for money? Depends whether or not I am happy with them I suppose.
