full skirt or not?

Is there a definitive date for the introduction of the vented front skirt?
My car was built in early July 1964, the first time I rebuilt it in the 80's I used a full skirt.
I am going to refresh the car soon and need to know what spec front panel to use?

Any info would be great, many thanks, David

Hi David, I put a vented one on my late July 64 dated car, but I did rally it for a while and wanted the air to the brakes!

Would be interested to know for sure who's correct! :?

I thought the "vented" skirt was introduced the same time as twin leading front brakes which was in September 64. I could be wrong though. :|

My car is also a July 1964 and it has the full skirt. It is my understanding that most of the changes like the full skirt happened in September as stated by InimiaD.

September '64' sounds about right. My May '64' 1071 had the full skirt panel.

Cheers

I had a look in Parnell, he says July, then says maybe August! September Sounds possible!

If I ever restore my old 'Grandfathers Axe' again, I can go Full Skirt then!

Cheers :P
