Early HS2 Choke route

Could someone please post a picture of the correct routing for the choke cable for a 61 Delux please. I am unsure if it runs via the hole above the crossmember or the larger hole below. Also is it normal practice to have to reduce the length of a new cable and sleeving as the one I have seems far too long?

Many thanks

I don't think I have a picture of the routing but the cable comes up underneath the crossmember and fits to the choke mechanism from below. That's how it is on my late '60 .

The original cables are much shorter than later 'standard' cables.

Many thanks. That was the conclusion I had arrived at but it did not seem correct having to cut down the cable and sleeve. Oh well I'll whip it off and get the hacksaw out tomorrow.

Dear Graham,

You're showing my car,

did I make a mistake?

It was originally fitted exactly like that.

Thanks guys!

Hi Charly, No mistake! :P ( I don't think)

I remembered the photo, so dropped it over here to help the others!

My 62 850 and 65 Elf also have cable routed like this for that type of choke mechanism.

Thanks!

:ugeek:
