The third last MkII S made by Austin ( Jan 1970 ) is up for sale here in CA.
Interestingly ( sadly ) the doors were modded for internal hinges ( it is a mod and not a reshell ). Original engine and chassis. Has Heritage cert.
I'm considering it myself...but it's 800km away!....aaarg

Miles is old fashioned ;-)

Most countries on the planet are metric ( all but 3 countries )....even if they don't like to think so. I think the US is one of very few that hold onto their "somewhat" imperial measure ( aka: small 3.8L gallon ).....
We still cheat in CA though...most people still use lb's for their own weight or MPG ( although new cars are sold as *L/100km ) when calculating fuel economy.
We never use F though....strictly C for many years now and all distances and speeds are strictly metric

....and back to the cars

Tongue firmly in cheek, but...
...... the US is one of very few that hold onto their "somewhat" imperial measure.......
The clue is in the name, if it's Imperial it can't be theirs! I believe 'the US' have, on more than one occasion, tried to patent the Imperial system :?
