Early PD Fuel pump

My brother found this sitting in one of his mini's. I told him it looks like a 59 fuel pump.

So its a PD fuel pump. He doesn't know where it came from (we got minis in 61 and didn't have these pumps).

So are these valuable or rare or rebuildable?

I'm thinking it probably came from another vehicle?

It looking pretty sad and is most probably scrap and we will never use it, so it was in the bin

But thought I should enquire before it goes to the local tip.

Thanks Bubba

Don't bin it!
A PD style fuel pump off the car. This pump was used on all 59 cars.

You can get a lot of the spares for AUA pumps from Burlen, albeit not a 69 mini one. I suspect the points, rockers, diaphragms etc are the same though.

Maybe, but you can't get inside them as the ends are crimped/rolled over. It might be possible for someone ingenious to open the ends on a lathe, or something.

Bubbas one may be unused as I've had a few NOS ones in the past with those black caps on the pipes.

None of the ones I had worked until I cleaned the points up and then they all worked and pumped fuel.
