Trying to help somebody out here. They have an early oil fed primary 850 with the early clutch. What do they need to convert to the conventional mini clutch and primary gear set up? Cheers

If you check in the amendment publications in the main MK1 site they give you a break down of how to do this. While you are doing its worth doing the diaphragm clutch spring mod too.

Having just re read the service memo, it isn't that helpful. What you need to do is bung up the oil feed in the crank, this is usually done by forcing a piece of rubber down the end of the crank behind the big crank bolt, this is compressed when the crank bolt is done up & should cut off the oil supply. You then need to get some primary gear bushes made of self lubricating alloy such as deva metal & fit these to the primary gear. BMC used to do a conversion kit, but any that are still about will be stupid money.

After doing this you should consider the diaphragm clutch conversion above.
