Cuff links

Hi all anyone know anything about these, a friend owns them and they have been inherited from this dad who used to work on the mini line.
I have seen various official & non official Mini, Austin, Morris & BMC cuff links over the years & still have a fair few sets of different types. I have however never seen any that look like those before.
If they did go to people who worked on the line at some time, I would have thought that they would have been unofficial.
