Name badge fixings

Post by minidean »

Hello, How do you fit name badges to boot and bonnet? I fitted the 'name badge fixings' to the badges and put them trough the existing holes but the are a little loose? (1963 austin mini)

Push the 'mouse johnnies' into the drilled holes first then push the badge pins in and the badges should stay put, though if the johnnies are a little knackered you may have pushed them straight through and may need new ones. Can't remember on the 850 Austin bonnet badge but they usually have spring clips (?)

Hi Pete, i did this but the new 'mouse johnnies' seem a little too small or the holes too big. it looks like i need to melt them a little when they are in place???

The boot badges always appeared a little loose to me when I owned the car, and on some occasions I knocked the Mini badge of when washing the car. There are different sizes of badge fixings available, have you got the correct size?

The bonnet badge was held on with metal spire clips when I owned it.

Bresco sell most clips, the only problem being you need to buy a pack of them.

You may have to experiment either sith sikkaflex type glue or some spring steel badge clips of the correct size. I suspect that the holes have been opened up at some time.
