Hey guys,
Is there a comprehensive guide to this year mini----exactly what it should have and not have ??
I just bought one with 54 thou on the clock, and all original. That is, as it came out of the factory, minus wear and a little tear. Still has the carpet too, with a little fading. It's just that it was probably a CKD, here in NZ, and I can't see a FE number either. I haven't looked at the date stamps on the lucas items just yet, but going by the condition, I would say that it is all there. It has the 3 dial dash, which I think is right, but maybe that was a Kiwi thing ???
Any help appreciated
Cheers
Colin

Don't know much about NZ CKDs but that looks a cracker. There were a few changes to UK cars during '63 like seat belt top anchorages were lowered, chrome window catches changed to plastic, stainless wheel arch trims changed to plastic, new design fresh air heater, rear seat back changed and lots of mechanical changes in '63.

It was registered here in july 63, so if you take a month or so off that, for it to be shipped out from UK in CKD form. Upholstery is light blue with black fleck and light blue carpet. Full front skirt, plastic window catches, single hole seat adjuster brackets, stainless side trim and all with no rust !!!

What a cracking mini!
Must be boring not having to deal with rust though
Whats the plans for it? The paint looks quite faded after all these years are you going to have it polished up or just use it as it is?

Enjoy.

That is an absolutely fantastic little project. All it needs is a bit of a freshen up. My favorite sort of Mini.

I will just replace what is not there, like a pull cord for drivers door, rubber gearstick boot for the floor, battery cover, a whisker on one side and a blinker end------ Speaking of which, a few years ago-about 6-- I bought a replacement kit for the blinker end on the cooper S, it had the green lense, the black Bakelite piece , the bulb and holder, the small wire and a tube of araldite for fitting it, does anyone know where these are available now ???????????
Cheers
