the only trouble with two door mk1 escorts is that you cannot leave them parked anywhere

I think they are the most nicked classic car in the uk and never get recovered
should you wish, you can contact me on rich@minispares.com

Isn't it even worse that it ressembles most to a Marina?

Nice looking Escort - apart from the side repeaters as already mentioned.
Another classic I'd like to own, but for exclusivity, the Marina would be a very welcome stablemate too...

I deviated for a short period of time, Mini wasn't finished for the Manx in 1991, so bought this, did two events and sold it on ! Good results mind, car was quite a bit easier to drive on the limit, especially over the bumps !

I do love the MKI and MKII Escorts, even if they did steal the Rally Thunder from our Cooper S's. Very nice example there Vegard

But...
Why did the Escort turn into such a "racecar" whereas the Marina didn't?

The bottom line is that they are boh shit. Was it the dampers? I know that Ford unleashed some good enginges, but I fail to see why the chassis of a Marina is worse than an Escort.

A 3.5 litre Works Marina, that'd be a BDA-killer!!

I believe there were 2 3.5 V8 marinas built as experiments / works service cars.

Would be fun (and cheap) to recreate!
