Re: MCR Website
Ditto, my compu blocks it completely.
The trick is to enter the main MCR site, and go on the forum from there.
Have done this for the last week, and it works .

This was my reply on the 12th
'Hi Ronnie,
Thanks for the message.
We are looking into the problem."
Regards
Robert
But google is still saying this "What happened when Google visited this site?
Of the 189 pages we tested on the site over the past 90 days, 173 page(s) resulted in malicious software being downloaded and installed without user consent. The last time Google visited this site was on 2013-11-13, and the last time suspicious content was found on this site was on 2013-11-10."
Re: MCR Website
After reading this thread I thought I would see what happened if I tried to log on with Google, normally I use IE. When I searched it on Google Chrome my Norton gives the site a green tick, signifying that there are no problems. I clicked on the forum and received no messages from Google about Malware or any other malicious content. I then procde to log on, and still no messages.
PS I think Google is crap, hence why I use Internet Explorer

Re: MCR Website
Just tried with Firefox instead of Safari still getting a warning, I have also been to the local library, and they are blocking it (well their browser IE, not their security)
PS My fingers are sore with logging in to this site it keeps dropping me, sometimes after less than a minute.

Re: MCR Website
It's still navigable if you have a decent O/S (Linux) and browser and thus can afford to ignore the warning messages.

Re: MCR Website
I won't use it until the coast is clear, I've heard of several users with computer problems since this happened ?!! The MCR Facebook page seems to have pretty much replaced what was a very quiet forum anyway.

Re: MCR Website
It has been announced on the M.C.R.'s facebook page that the forum is to be closed temporarily due to the malware issues...and a more stringent vetting standard (of posters/members) is to be enforced....I wonder if this is to be permanent ? some committee members would like this...

Mini Cooper Register (MCR) - Forum Update
We have regrettably closed the forum whilst we deal with the issues of the malware infection we have suffered. It is only the forum that has been affected as it is held on a different server, the main MCR website is unaffected.
Once we have resolved the issues on the forum, the forum software will be updated and the forum moved onto a different server.
We will also be implementing tighter controls on users identity.
Updates will appear on the MCR website on the home page at http://www.minicooper.org.

Re: MCR Website
I think they will use it as an excuse to force people to post under their real name.......hmm most people want a choice..forcing people to do something will kill enthusiasm for it.
Those that want to sign off with their name anyway

The MCR will still welcome people to have 'user names' - no problem with that - but what will be required is that user name is registered and verified with a proper name and address with the administrator. I think that is the correct thing to do.
