Hi!

sorry, for I did not find it by the search function, but I am looking for FIA homologation sheets for Group 5 of the late 60ies or early 70ies. Btw, have there been any group 5 minis running during 1970 at international events?

Best regards from Germany

Hello,

There are no Gr. 5 homologation papers available as no cars (Minis or others) were ever homologated into Gr. 5

For a list of all cars ever homologated see:

http://www.fia.com/sites/default/files/ ... l-2010.pdf

The European Touring Car Championship was run according to Gr. 5 in 1968 and 1969 and John Handley won the championship in 1968 with a 970cc Cooper S.

The BSCC ran to Gp5 1966/7/8 and 69 with some changes. There was no homologation in the way there was for Gps 1,2 etc.
Gp5 cars at that time (later on Gp5 was more what Gp6 was then) had to be first homologated in Gp2 and then were allowed additional "freedoms" detailed in Gp5 of Appendix J. There were no parts specifically homologated for individual models under Gp5.

This finally means one cannot have a period G2 (1970/71) Group 5 mini. :(

Hi,

it's a bit more difficult. But we now need the new FIA passport and therefore can change period and group at once. With a G1 Group 5 there are more possibilities and 3% less weight. ;)
