A couple of shades of grey

I'm about to paint the roof on my Almond green /white Mk1.
What I'd like to do is to paint the roof dark grey. I've considered dove and tweed, but I'd really like something a bit darker.
Does anyone know of any dark grey colours from different BMC vehicles? I'd like to use such.
Anyone?

Hi Vegard,
Grampian grey and Carlton grey are both darker BMC colours from the period,
Bill.

I now see that I asked almost the same question on the Mini Cooper register a year ago

Grey over Almond Green will look awesome.
How about GR11 Farina Grey - not terribly dark though if I remember correctly, and then there's BLVC619 Nimbus Grey that Austin Rover used for the grey painted Mini bumpers of the '80s - it's quite dark.

Grampian grey is a beautiful shade. I had a 1968 MGB in that color.
Farina grey is a very light shade of grey. My A40 Farina is um, er, Farina grey...the seller thought it was light brown, initially I thought it was a dark OE white!

Series 2 land rover grey is quite dark but can't remember the code for it.

No idea what shade you would call this...but it's a very rough photoshop I did a few years ago when I was contemplating what colours to use on my own car!

The thing is with a grey roof it you get it wrong it will look like its still in primer . Did it myself few years ago and everybody said to me when am I going to paint the roof . So I changed the roof colour to fiesta yellow over / almond green and it really seem to lift it . Only my opinion , it's just that the race car does look exactly like primer
