Hi all !
I'm replacing a bootlid skin and seems to be difficult to achieve a perfectly flat fold on the edge.
I've tried to do flat folds with bits of sheet and I've obtained a rather poor result...
Does somebody know a trick ? Thanks for your help.
Regards
Georges

The trick to getting the corner round is to bend the lip round very, very slowly. You need to bend the flange over about 5° each time you go round, if you do this very carefully & slowly taking make 10 passes to get the flange hammered right down it will come out with a nice rounded corner. If you rush it it will end up with flat corners.

Also, avoid using those flange fitting pliers, a hammer & dolly work the best.

A standard boot lid is just crimped on.

Matty, you do like setting yourself "interesting" challenges don't you.

Thank you Mark, I'll remember "very, very slowly" and "hammer and dolly" ;)
