Hey
Thought this might be information you guys deserve to know about. Mintec Mini Spares ruined my mini shell beyond repair after I gave them over £5000 to restore it, they lied and cheated their way through the job and then disappeared on me.
I now have a CCJ against them, and am trying to recover the money. I also now know they havnt just done this to me. Dont let them ruin any of your mk1 shells.

Find out as much as you can about the company. Are they Ltd? Are they wining it up? Are they trading as something else? Have they/are they going into liquidation?
We got burned by a machine tooler for £12k which was painful. We ambled on for a while, but stats were against us and a bit of a price war put us out of action permanently.
Meanwhile the machine tooler kept his car/house/telly/etc.
Go straight to the chief and ask them what they are going to do about it.
Don't involve the police/law, they will only rinse money out of you and threaten you if anything untoward happens to this person.
I would notify them that if the money is not paid in full within a reasonable amount of time, you will collect the money by hook or by crook.

Chances are they will not pay
If no payment is made to you in the time limit given by the County Court. You then have to go to the Crown Court and that means the Bailiffs are sent in and property and items are seized and costs are added to them.
Should cost you 80 pounds. which is recovered by the Bailiffs.
Usually this happens when a company is going bust.

Hey
Thank you very much for the advice guys, and very interesting about the previous CCJ they have, I had a funny feeling that they did have some, but nice to know solid information. The latest CCJ on that record is my one against them.
I have a debt collection company involved now, and we are currently on the next step to collection the debt.
I would love to have a conversation with Phil Tupman/Mintec but they have ignored every single one of my letters, emails and texts, also ignored all of the court letters.

As I have received an abuse report regarding this thread, I have decided to lock it.
I sincerely hope that both parties manage to reach an amicable & mutually acceptable solution to this issue. But chewing it over here will not, in my opinion serve any useful purpose.
