Hi - I am in need to some help with the ID of an engine number. Have checked the usual sites and have not found an obvious match.

Engine tag reads 99H-159-H251xx where the last 2 xs are numbers.

Fuel pump on block is blanked as cast. Removable tappet covers. Any help appreciated.
1110R block casting number near fuel pump blank. Have other casting numbers if needed.

Regards

The only comparable ID I can find so far is "Wolseley / Riley, Mini Clubman, Mini 1000, 1970 on MK111 dished piston".
That's from engine number 101 on.

The codes I have for that are
99H/-/101 on Wolseley, Riley, Mini 1000, Clubman1000 1970 onwards and Mk3 with dished piston

The second H letter as on my ID tag is not shown in those listings. I would have thought the second H would show in the list of engine numbers?

My late 68 MK 2 has an engine number which is 99H-159-Hxxx. I did read somewhere what the 2nd H denotes, but can't for the life of me remember what it was.

Your engine code is

99H - 998cc engine transverse
159 - Ub + Te which in English is Lucas C40 dynamo plus standard ratio remote control gearbox transverse
H - High compression
