Dry Suspension Questions

Evening all,

I'm thinking forward to rebuilding my front suspension for my Mk1 style racer - i've not attacked a front subframe in any depth so wanted to ask a couple of questions:

1. I want to fit Hi-Los and drop the suspension but not by a massive amount. At the front, what else should I replace with an adjustable variant of the part? I was thinking tie bars and I wanted to fit 1.5 degree bottom arms, but would they need to be fully adjustable if I'm going lower? Anything else to take into account?

2. Looking at the very helpful Somerford suspension exploded assembly (http://www.somerfordmini.co.uk/eshop/in ... page&id=52), when fitting Hi-Los, will the nut on the adjustable Hi-lo cone fit straight into the joint socket (part 58) as per the seperate detail number 84? I'm guessing you can do away with the knuckle joint assembly (part 56)?

Thanks in advance,

Alex

I think the knuckle joint is missing in the diagram. You will have to use a knuckle joint.

Strengthened and or adjustable tie bars are useful items and will help you get your castor angle back to where it should be if you are going to use negative camber.
