Hillclimb classes

Hi. I am contemplating hillclimbing my mk1 cooper and just wondered if somebody can give me some info.
I would like to enter the under 1000cc road going class that the DEWS club run. However, I may have to overbore +20 on my engine, thus making it over 1000cc...just.
So, my question is, how strict is the cc of the engine to the class, as I don't want to be with the 1300cc guys.

I've not heard of anyone running over capacity in the classes, best bet is to contact the comp sec (Cooperco on here) through the clubs web site and ask the question, it would be good to see a few more 1000 cc cars out next year, I know of one being built, 1 re-built, and 1 currently competing, it was around 6-7 seconds slower than the class 2 cars on the semi-dry runs at Wiscombe last weekend, in the wet it was closer, class 2 has the most competitors, despite us all running cars that are different in spec we normally end up within a couple of seconds of each other, some times it's only hundreds of a second separating everyone

The class is up to 1100 cc so you will be OK!
See you next year

Good point David

, so as long as your overbore is below 1100 cc you will be fine

Thanks everyone. I thought it was 1000cc when I read the site a while ago. I will have to read things better in the future.
Can't wait to get building now!
