Mini Special garage "find"

Thursday I pulled myself together, and went to my garage,
where my Green Mini Special has been parked since the summer of 2007.

I took a 220 volt compressor with me, and a long extension cable.

Found a flat 2 stairs up, where they would let me borrow a socket, to plug in the compressor.

10 min later, and the wheels had air in them again.

checked oil & water, fitted a charged battery, then turned the engine on the start motor a bit,
without pulling the choke, so she could get some oil around the engine.
Sprayed some startgas into the airfilter, turned the key, and she startet right away.
I then checked if clutch & brakes worked ? and they did

Friday I drove her to the workshop, for the later changes .

Here is a video http://youtu.be/CZIBNnemI74

Found a few items in the garage tonight =

Original 70ies British Leyland accessorie fuel cap.
Have 2 with matching key.
These will replace the ones in the video.

The cars original Special badge, that will go back on the car.
Also have the front one, for the grille.

Notice the original BL sound insulation on the bulkhead.
Shame these dont get reproduced (with the correct cut outs) and correct rubber type surface

Hi Jens,

What is this mini special? I assume that it was a non UK limited edition? What age, what spec etc is it?

Well as you might have guessed, did I know where it was all this time

After IMM 2007, I had it transported direct to my workshop, and charged the battery.
Then it got used for the rest of the 2007 season.
But in 2008, I concentrated on getting the WP startet up, and taken to the MOT, so it could go back into the registre.
This meant that I transferred the plates over to the WP = so the Green one "stranded" in its garage  .

Here is a pic of the dash =

The Rokee dash, was standard in the Danish Special GT.

Have a set of S calipers & disc,s that need new pistons etc.

Then exchange the Innocenti disc,s & calipers, with the S items.

restore the original 10" Cobra Slot mags, my Father bought for it, when new(16-12 1978)

When these are fitted will I lower the car.

New oil / grease & fluids all over etc.

I will also reverse all the wrong badges, back to original.
Also have the original "Special" badge for the grill.
Might swap the Rover Mini mudflaps with these =

just not sure if they are small enough for a Mini ?
He has listed the same item, for all kind of bigger Leyland cars too.

Its a bit like the UK Special, but less the alloys & center console.

Here is a link to a almost original Danish Special =

This car is missing its Clubman type bumpers, matt Black front grill with Special badge, and Cibie headlights.

We had these in the Netherlands as well. Later also with the Clubman bumpers.

The mini Specials were built in Belgium, and were rusting very fast.
They were often built with 1100 ccm engines.

Well big surprice - the people on our weather forecast center was wrong.
So woke up to a warm & sunny Saturday 8-)

The plan was = Cars n´Coffee, on the old Arne Jacobsen designed gasstation.
Info here = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skovshoved_Petrol_Station

One of the cars I saw, was a rare Mascot Special GT.

These were made for the Danish market only, to celebrate Morris 50th anniversary in DK.

They are Mini Special,s with added features, such as 2 spots on the front, wheel arches, and a 3 piece Rokee veneer dash.
As you can see, did they have their own badges too.

Here are some pictures.

Original grill badge, fitted to original matt Black grill.

Rear badge.

This rear window sticker, was not a Mascot Special GT only item.
these were fitted to all Morris cars in DK.
