If the movie starts from Hunt's racing roots maybe his race Mini's in it ? Both Hunt and Lauda both started in Minis.

Just seen the movie, mk3 with mk1 rear lights and austin cooper s badging, no vinyl on the inside door posts, rear reversing lamp on the boot lid.
The guy who plays Lauda was very life like, in accent and looks, Hunt was not so good.

Might go see it one night this week, although not convinced by the guy playing Hunt from the photos/clips I've seen.
This van from the film is on Ebay...

How could they use a 1978 Renault van as a Ferrari race vehicle. Couldn't they find a Fiat 238 in Italy. I think I will wait until this cartoon is available on SKY in 6 months time before watching it.

Here is a proper Ferrari team transporter

Looks MUCH better
Next one is most likely the correct for 76 season too.

From my collection. The transporter is made by Old Cras and the 312B cars are made by Brumm.
I also have one of the older Fiat transporters from the 1950/60s somewhere.

Nice comments from Lauda himself

Personally, from all the very nice cars displayed in the movie , I really liked the quick take of the zagato.

James Hunt is in this sketch involving what looks like a coach built Mk. 2 Cooper from the 1977 Morecambe and Wise Christmas Show. Go to 25:20...

Just seen the movie today with my teenage son and we both enjoyed it. The worst part of the movie though was the constant chirping going on about which scenes were filmed where (Oulton , Cadwell and Brands), even which corners, which were actually supposed to be Watkins Glen or some other far flung circuit . This happened all the way through the movie, but I couldn't help it !
Clay Regazzoni was another main character in the movie who yet again had firm roots as a Mini Cooper driver !
Yes it's a very Hollywood treatment of a European motor racing story but I think despite some clunky continuity and some scenes looking like they'd been crow barred in it just about worked. The raucous sound and imaginative visuals to some degree carries it along but both main actors I thought were excellent, albeit Hunt looking a little too 'ripped' for the 1970's !! (remember a gym was still where school kids did PE in those days !)
As for Hunt driving around in a Mini at several points in the movie, I wonder if they swapped an A35 van for the Mini to 'sex' it up a little and keep it clear of Wallace and Grommet territory ?!!
Some funny moments, great sounds and a great watch.

Talking about the resemblance of the actors, and with all due respect, Nikki Lauda reminds me of a young Mr. Burns
