Designed by me and originally fitted to our FIA car prepared by Tony Pattison.

If you run a KAD quickshift, we also manufacture a modification that does away with the original tension spring and plastic "C" washer.
It comprises of a delrin lower cup which the lever ball sits in, sandwiched by the KAD aluminium housing which is then installed upside down. Shims are inserted to provide perfect movement or adjustment.
Has been faultless in operation all season. We fitted one to Ron Maydon's car when we worked on it prior to his Spa foray and he said it was a vast improvement.
We also have in production some 2mm thick steel retaining plates that prevent the front hub nuts from coming loose, replacing the split pin. Once the nut is tightened the plate is fitted onto the wheel studs. You just need to check front track for FIA but fits under Minilites or Minispares Rosepetals.
PM me if you are interested.

Latest version is £85.00 plus VAT and P&P, we also need the reverse gear detent bung or a sump plug in exchange.

£100 is that for the reverse-lock alone or complete with modified stick?
Not sure if I understand this correctly.. the cable run from the stick all the way to the front og the box - and the rev. plunger is replaced?

Hi Ed,
£100.00 including VAT is for the reverse gear lock out complete with cable and operating lever mounted on the gear stick. The plunger in the gearbox prevents accidental or partial engagement until the release mounted on the gear stick is pulled.
The cable is run through the gear stick hole in the top of the gaiter to the front of the gearbox.
If your further reference is to the other modification we do to the KAD quick shift, the delrin base and shims to replace the gear stick tension spring, plastic "C" washer and spacer, then that is a separate part and additional cost.
Hope that clarifies things.

Mike, its worth noting that John Hopwood has said that this arrangement was never homologated and therefore strictly speaking is nor acceptable on an FIA Appendix K car. No problem at UK "club" events but if you go overseas need to take the bits to convert back to standard if thrown out at scrutineering.

Hi Eddy,
Yes I agree, but those that are running a lock out preventing them getting reverse at all (and I could name several front runners) are also in contravention of the rules. I guess the Minispares item is also illegal.
Peter Baldwin has been using one of ours on Graham Churchill's car without issue with the International Stewards.
We have been running in the Masters Series, which as the organiser reserves the right is an "invitation series" there have therefore been no problems.
To be honest, selling them has or is not a money making venture, its only that several people have enquired about them.
