Hello! This is my project 1275 S. I bought it some years ago to a familia of classic car friends.

The car was original y a rhd Austin Cooper S 1275 Mk1, delivered to Brighton in 1965 in Surf Blue with white top.

The car was registered in Spain in the late seventies, probably the car came as a racer.

The car was raced and as most racers probably came illegally to Spain ( as no one was able to register an imported car, only a few people has that luck).

i've started stripping it and oh! Surprise! The car still has a racing sticker in the inner side of the roof!

It seems the car was then converted to Spanish specification Cooper 1300, almost complete, with Mk3 rear ligaste, front grille, budgets, complete Authi Cooper 1300 engine, Rostyle wheels, seatbelts, rear boot lid and flared fiber group 5 type wheel arches.

As I said, now I'm stripping it prior to send it to the paint shop to cut and install new front right hand side floor and leave it in abre metal for its new surf blue paint.

I need to find many parts to rebuild it, such as a complete 1275S engine, a complete interior (setas, seat covers, door cards, mats, etc) an Mk1 boot lid, complete front grille, .....

Fass...

As you say... Many UK minis were brought to spain in an illegal way for racing purposses. Sometines were converted to national cars using the papers and administrative data of a crashed national mini.
I know some cases like this one you have. I am willing to see more pictures and your restoration processes.
I guess you are living here in Spain. Where are you from?

Best regards.

Guillermo.
