Planes, trains, & automobiles will all on full working display at the 2013 Bo’ness Hillclimb Revival…

Expect to see some of the most iconic vintage and classic racing cars competing on this historic hillclimb course, located about 20 miles west of Edinburgh. This two day event is expected to feature about 100 cars taking part as their drivers race up the same route that once used by legendary Scottish racing drivers such as Jackie Stewart and Jim Clark. 2013 marks the 50th Anniversary of Scotland's Jim Clark winning his first Formula 1 Championship in 1963, and BHCR are working towards marking the occasion at this year's Revival. Jim Clark competed at Bo'ness in 1959 in a Lister Jaguar and also in a Lotus Elite in which he had driven to 10th place at Le Mans in June of that year, and the organisers hope to have a similar Lotus Elite on show this year.

There will be a very good turnout of classic road cars on display, with many clubs already taking stands on Sunday 8th September. Also on the Sunday will be a flypast by two aircraft of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at the 6th Bo’ness Hillclimb Revival Meeting. The Spitfire and Hurricane will be returning, having last graced the skies over Bo'ness in 2009 (the Flypast will of course be subject to the usual provisos re non appearance due to bad weather, serviceability of aircraft etc). The Bo’ness Steam Railway Preservation Society will have steam trains on their line which runs directly adjacent to the paddock area. With vintage cars on the track and the most iconic World War II aircraft in the air this will all be well worth seeing.
