Whilst looking at my origional log book for my cooper S the other night I decided to google the 4 previous owners, the 2nd, brd Hugo Craster Wakefield Ironside turned out to be a rather interesting war hero, captured in Dunkirk with the Royal Tank Regiment and imprisoned in Bravaria, from where he escaped and was re captured and the taken to Colditz Castle where he was part of the escape committee making a glider.......

Full details here for anyone interested.

Great bit of history for your car Paul, excellent discovery , I particularly liked the following : "He was a man of great charm, and in retirement he enjoyed golf, flying kites, and taking cars to pieces" Just as well owning a Mini !

How cool is that!

Sounds like "He was a man of great charm"... Unlike a certain Mr Fudger...
