godammit - its been a bad week for minisprints.........

I think the planets must be miss-aligned or something
start of the week, poor paul wiginton re-arranges the back of his beautiful sprint.
middle of the week, wil has to re-ebay his, er, not beautiful sprint as some typical ebay cock socket has wasted his time.
last night, im driving home from work, sat in some traffic, when the old guy in his discovery in front of me decides to back up and let someone into a side road......
I saw his reverse lights come on and though 'ohh ohh, here we go...'
I pipped my horn and he kept coming, so I took the handbrake off, then CRUNCH.......
he shoved me back a good foot or so, then set of forwards again, I jumped out my car and ran up to him, 'you've just reversed into my car!'
'oh sorry I didn't see you.....'
I turned round to look at the front of my car expecting so see the mirror image of paul wigintons car, but was amazed to see that there was no significant damage, I was absolutely gob smacked, from the huge CRUNCH noise, id expected all the wings and headlamps to be stoved in.
the only damage, bar a load of scratches and chips where the bonnet shuffled about is a dent in the moustache where the rear step on the discovery caught it!
I was that amazed I just said to the guy, look, its not worth worrying about
lucky or what?
I think as far as im concerned, one little dent, just adds to the history and patina of the car!

hey, after I came out my flat one morning and discovered that someone had been dancing on the roof of it, it kind of stopped been a car I was so worried about.....
I always say, if your using them, and parking them on the street, then you just cannot get too stressed about things like this!
its only a bit of paint, and a new moustache, or in the case of the roof, I just got into the back and pushed it back into the original shape (plus a few dents)

You are TOO laid back Rich, you should have made the prat pay!
Still, glad to hear that not too much damage has been done.
Look forward to seeing you this evening to inspect the damage.

I've long thought that 4x4's so high off the ground are dangerous if the driver can't see anything below 5ft high in the rear view mirror, including children. You'll have to get a flashing beacon or a flag on the roof Rich, or just buy a sensible car !

it gets better...
there is a white mini designer that lives very near to me in Harrogate.
the owner has just been in to work
its had its roof stoved in by someone jumping on it - this one needed a new roof.
and
someone went up the back of it not 20 feet from where mr discovery attacked my car last night
there must be a vortex or something

Sounds like you were lucky you got the handbrake released.
Also lucky it didn't roll away when you we're 'talking' to the to$$er - it would've done if it had been mine. Probably into a Porsche or somethin equally expensive.

Spooky Stuff. Perhaps you should contact Channel 5 and get them to do a programme about the "Harrogate Triangle"

benny, I do, but its not a particually nice one, or historic or anything like that
it lives outside all weathers, consumes vast qtys of oil and just gets used and abused
its lovely to drive though

still a great looking wee car. Gold wheels always look good.
Rich, you are too tolerant though! sodding 4x4 drivers. I very much doubt you were in a field........

It still looks very cool. Did you build it yourself, or buy it that way?
