Mk2 gauge in mk1 car

Temp gauge is bust

Can get a new mk2 one however the bezel is different, Can I just swap my mk1 onto the mk2 gauge

Will I need to fit a voltage regulator

It's easy to swap the bezels, if you look at the back of the chrome rim you'll see the tags that need folding back then just twist it off. You'll need a voltage reg for a more modern gauge, as they dropped the voltage to improve accuracy. Not that you can call any mini gauge accurate :lol: :lol:

Something else I have thought off, the sender in the head, will that need changing as well?

I believe the early ones are different, so yes I expect you do need a suitable sender.

Going by the size of the blue/cold mark, this should be pre voltage stabilizer version.

If you decide to buy it, ask a picture from the back first to confirm it is what you need. What year/month is your car?
