mk 3 stopped at 75 after that they went rubber subframes , totally different interiors, seats, door trims, fuel tanks, etc
so are you looking for pics between 70 and 75 or 76 onwards as they really are different cars

Mk3 stopped about '73 when they put the flat topped tunnel in.

this isn't true, 1976 is the accepted change point of when cars where called 'mk4' as it indicated the shell change for the single bolt frames, rubber mounts, and the host of other changes such as the twin stalks, trim changes etc etc
if the factory had upped the 'mk' of the shells every time they made a slight change to the shell only, we would have been up to double figures by the time the mpi shell came out!

Doesn't really matter whats accepted. As facts remain the same.they where nearly in double figures though last ones where mk9.

youre totally missing the point here , if hes building a mk3 then thats what he needs pictures off, no point trying to build a car from referance pictures of a later model that has so many different parts and bits and bobs on it as thats going to end up confusing things for the guy

On the outside they might not be too different. Sorry the only pictures I could send you are of a 70 MK3. I'd expect you to still have a chrome rather than black grille, small hubcaps and maybe a double pinstripe just under the glass on the door skin and rear quarter. One mirror on the drivers door.
God Paul this could send us on a MK3 tangent. Welcome to the group, would you like to share your story?

Is this any good? a factory fresh Mk3! Not the best quality image, but shows the basics.

Your best bet is to get copies of these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRITISH-LEYLA ... 56593bc26f
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rare-1976-Min ... 3f27a927fc
There's quite a few shots of the interior, exterior and engine in them.

Outer body 'styling' of Mk3 to Mk7 (or 9) was surely pretty much the same.....nothing radical happened after the change to Mk3 winding window doors....apart from the roof gutter drip rails being deleted as per original '59 Mini's from Mk4 onwards. Colours, coachlines, door mirrors, chrome or black trim also of course changed to follow the styling trends or cost reductions of the time.
Many owners fitted the Mk2 Cooper Grille as here, later re-used on the Rover Cooper. I think Vortz saved the original BL Cooper grille tooling......

I am also 'hingeless' & I'm not totally sure what Mk mine is, it's 1981 HL with clubman dash & reverse lights but no rear seat belt mountings. I've always assumed it's Mk4.

1973
MK3
Ignore the fact its sat on alloys and has MK4 wheel arches (there not on it anymore) but its about as near as straight from the factory as you can get.
there were 2 types of hubcaps used - the basic 850 and 1000cc had the small ones and contrary to popular belief - I had a 75 1000cc super de-lux (on the log book) which had full hubcaps, ashtrays in the rear bins.
I think 850s had a single clock and sealed rear 1/4 windows in the MK3 era
It has the wrong fuel cap, should just be a screw on item , but thats your basic 1000cc MK3 in Glacier White with midnight blue interior

My names Paul and i have a MK3 problem - well 5 mk3 problems , 1970 rally car, 1971 S road car, 1971 S 8 port rally car, 1972 S project car (depending if youre in the MCR or not) and a 1973 1000cc
First Car was a 1975 mini 1000 MK3 - , ive had a few more mk3s in between then and now (about 6 as i can remember) , a 64 and a 76 MK4 which i hated with a passion
erm I like Nespresso Coffee and Im going to keep bee's to help ween me off the MK3's - thats the buzzy type not the MG type

They sure did
The city i am sure had sealed rear windows as well,
Think mk3 850 window filling strips were always black

Ick
I think with your city , you might have just verged onto the MK4s , when leyland were blinging the model range up a bit
And yes 850s had black infill strips
That is until I found this just now
An 850 de lux with chrome opening 1/4s and silver in fill strips, and probably a 3 clock dash - I had a 75 mini 1000 super de lux but its always been poo poo'd as never existing by the 'knowledgable folk' proof that they did exist has been scarce

Could it be that the super deluxe had the small hubcaps with the separate chrome ring then? Graet aunt had a damask red one like that, 74 iirc.
