One of the guys back home has put up a string of videos on youtube with the talk given by David Vizard in Australia some time in the 90's. It is good viewing.

Fantastic!
Also reminded me of my eternal search for a K&N filter that fits twin H4s within a standard bulkhead. I've tried a few recommended to me but they never fitted....not even close. Anyone?

I went to one of those talks at, at a local pub where the Mini club used to meet. It was a bit far out at the very last BHP end of the scale for me, but he was an interesting speaker. A bit strange on the interpersonal skills department as I recall though. I remember that he traveled with a minder. I had a chat with the minder, he seemed to be a lot more personable than Vizard, didn't seem to know much about Minis though.

Good Grief! David Vizard in person, and speaking - never heard his voice, the english midwest-counties brogue he has got too.

He learnt his engineering trade in an apprenticeship not much seen today, in the 1950s/60s Brit aircraft industry. He knows his nuts and bolts.

Well done to whoever for posting these vids, and hope if anyone that wants to pull them, think again. Don't be a woos! :)

They're my vids ;)

They come from a VHS I got from my guy who modified my 295 head about 13 years ago, and he'd organised the talk & videotaping in Brisbane.

His accent has some yank in it as well, being based over there for a fair bit I recall?

cheers

Jacob

vulcanbb18, may I shake your hand, well done.

We'll start a petition if they get pulled, definetely. Or go to war, or something! :D

Talking of vulcan in your name, anything to do with one of these?

How do you rip the video from the net? I loaded one up yesterday and it is the kind of thing I would like to look at but at my leisure and as they will imminently get pulled I would like to do so before its too late. Thanks. Mark

Nice piece of deduction, but no, thats not where I got the "Vulcan" from. The Vulcan comes from the "Vulcan Foundry" a large metal/engineering works in the UK. They made a number of steam locos for Queensland after WWII, like this :

Thanks for posting. He doesn't half remind me of that Worzel on Time Team...
