your very lucky there pad
I connected the 24volt boost charger up to my bus the wrong way round and it all got a bit hot and melty very quickly.
theres nothing like having to buy a new pair of commercial size batteries and a new boost charger to make sure that you will never make that mistake again!
ive heard of people fitting jump leads onto 24 volt the wrong way round and then burning their hands trying to pull the clamps back of the terminals, they go red hot so fast!

I once jump started a 50s Mercedes with a 6v battery using a 12v jump pack (I didn't know the merc had a 6V battery - at first)
It was interesting - initially there was a delay, then a sort of a rushing / fizzing noise, then a loud 'BANG' and then a tingly feeling as the acid ran through the bulkhead holes and spilt down from above the pedals onto my legs / feet.
I got out pretty quickly to find a very 'open plan' battery on the bulkhead, a very wet engine bay and I had one leg like Robinson Crusoe!
a lesson learnt. (as was the one that ammazingly, MB carpets appear to be resistant to battery acid!)

Ouch.
Not what you would call a POSITIVE result. Sorry, couldn't resist.
