HI, help needed on making dowels on head when matching the twin SU inlet manifold to 940 casting heads, any particular precaution when drilling the small holes on manifold face? Will it breaks through the water jackets?

Hi Al
Just thinking out loud here, Vizards got loads of pics in his book where he's cut heads in half etc, maybe you get an idea from there to where you can and cant drill

Re: Manifold Align Dowel on Head
The water ways only extend to that area of the head between the push rod holes where there are no stud holes. In the past I have drilled for dowels in line with the push rod holes where you have at least 1/2 inch of metal to play with. 1/4 inch is plenty of depth for a dowel in my opinion.
