Hi guys,
I would like to buy those mirrors:

Here we can see it mounted on a nice racer

How is it fixed?
Window catches supressed and it uses the empty holes?
Must I drill another hole in the glass?
thank you
Charles

That (Downton ??) mirror can be bolted through your window catch if you drill the screw hole out slightly. If it's the same as the one on offer over here at Minisp*rt etc the stud will go through the window hole fine.

That's my car!
I mounted mine exactly like Pete has said, by drilling out the window catches to 8mm and shaving one side of the retaining nut so as not to foul the catch. Can take a picture tomorrow for you.
Even after modifying the mirrors so they can be positioned in further however, they still don't offer great visibility so I'm now considering some mounting brackets at the moment like the Swiftune ones available.

Just to prove my pedant credentials that mirror is a reproduction Raydyot Mirror.
They are available from many of the usual suspects at prices varying from about £12 - £40 depending on where you go.
They have absolutely nothing to do with Downton, apart from the fact that the alloy racing version was fitted to a couple of Downton Racers.
A good original Raydyot will set you back around £300 - £500 depending on condition.

Tahnk you for those information,
I thought ut was downton mirror.
It's a good alternative because I don't want to drill holes in my brand new painted doors!
Thank you guys
