"All the identification numbers are correct and in the correct places all confirmed and dated by British Motor Heritage. It is a Stage 5 Touring Downton conversion with the correct Downton Cylinder head identification numbers are correct ie Job number, Skim, CC per cylinder all stamped, Carburettors are the very rare SU H2. The only parts that were changed on the car was the brake servo from type 6 inch to the correct 5.5 inch. The Downton conversion itself would command £2.000 if this car was put back to standard spec, The car has Factory recliners , factory fitted radio, original Carpets and headlining, The car comes on again very rare 3.5 J wheels, All the glass date stamps are correct Triplex for 1969, The Car also comes with factory hand book and BMC approved Accessories book, Has featured in The Cooper register Magazine August 2004 and Feb 2005 The Sunday Mirror, Mini Magazine, and Classic Cars. The car is reported to have been originally owned by an associate of the Kray twins an indeed was impounded by the Met for some 8 years I have the arresting document dating 14/8/70 the car being registered Dec 1969 it only had 8 month on the road confiming the very low milage still below 7,760 miles. The Car is reported to be the most original Cooper S MK11 in existence today."
Anyone know more......?
