I know!! The red will polish up too. But yes its genuine this way not hiding anything. A fellow has shown some interest in it but I'm not sure where to start. Hard to find in this condition right?

Now that is a lovely car and it looks so right!
Value even without engine and transmission or seats has still got to be circa £6500??
Cheers. Tim

I'd say with prices as they are now that £10,000 was closer to the mark that the £6,500 quoted above.
But as with all these things it's worth whatever someone is prepared to pay.

Wow, at those sort of numbers, I'm seriously considering selling my 'S'. Mine has had the steel arches added and 70's black-out paint, but it's equally rust free, and also has the correct block with std bore, correct head/crank/rods, and a pair of 12G333 gearboxes. All body tags in place, as well as 2 sets of carbs and air filter assembly.
Any ideas on a fair price?

Know of a guy, who has a lowmailage / one owner car (very rare model)
It had both its original terminals, he chopped them off, a few months ago.

Hard to believe anyone would do this to it ......
I presume original shells are so common out there that it matters little, bit like here in the 60's ? A note for the restorers out there, note the black paint under the grille.

At least they left the slam panel with the body number.

I would imagine that was done in the 70's.....like when they used to cut the transmission tunnels out of E-types to save a few hours on a clutch change. Practices like that haven't gone on for a long time.
And, no, nice original shells are not common here, they still just turn up from time to time.

From what I have noticed the values in the states are about 50-60% of the value in the UK or Japan. So I would say Tim was not far off the mark with his value in my opinion. And would also need be be the case to make it worth while importing from the USA.
