Hi all.
Does anyone have any idea how to restore cream crackle headlining and sun visors to as near original pale ivory colour as near as possible? I did think about giving it a very light dusting of paint. Anyone have any suggestions?
Cheers,
Nick

The healining in my Mk.1 Cortina was badly stained from the previous owner's cigarette smoking, so in an attempt to salvage it, I painted it with an off-white paint that was for fabric and vinyl....8 years later, it still looks great. I took the 'several light coats is better than one heavy one' approach, and it preseed the exture of the fabric very well.

I have the same problem in that my headlining and sun visors have been in the garage loft fir the last 30 years. So far I have cleaned the sun visors and they look like new. I used Autoglym upholstery shampoo and a sonic brush, the action of the brush gently worked the ingrained muck out of the fine groves.
The sonic brush came from Lakeland, I think sonic is a bit of an exaggeration but it did the trick
Cheers

I did manage to clean most dirt off with TFR, did a good job! I used a worn green scourer to get into the grains!
