005's are quite hard to find, unfortunately I used my last set the other week

you can get 30's and get them thinned down, or go to one of the specalists who get them water cut of out bronze sheet, these don't have the steel back though.

Rich, I sent 030, 003 and std to the machine shop. They say they need 005 (and I agree) to have the endfloat set at 0.004 and for some reason they don't want to machine down the 030.

I saw these but I'm not sure if they will work. I asked the seller and he said "I think they will not fit a mini block".

Aren't midget blocks the same in terms of design?

There is another seller on ebay selling them but he is on vacation for a few weeks

1275 midget ones are the same

I've ground down .30ies lots of times. No problem, but you need to grind the steel side. Ask me how I know??

I thought of thinning down the 030s too, but for some reason I didn't ask (it was by phone and we were talking about another things too). Incidentally the thrusts I bought from Minispares were sent directly to them, so I haven't had the 030 set in my hands and don't know the relation of bearing material to metal. I have no idea if reducing them by 83% will leave them solid / with any metal left. I agreed to search for some 005 ones which is the exact amount needed.

My crank has had one of the thrust steps ground and had 0.033'' of endfloat with 0.003'' fitted on both sides. (See disaster here). If I fit 0.30s on that non stepped side, I need the 005s for the other side to leave 004. Don't know what I was thinking to send them an STD set, I guess I didn't count with the +003 fitted when I measured the endfloat

I'll try to talk to that ebay seller again.

As 251 ENG has said, the ones on the ebay link will fit, but IMO, 0.004" endfloat for a 1275 is a little on the tight side (as yes, I know what's in the workshop manual ) I'd suggest fitting the +0.003" thrusts, end float would be nice then at 0.006".

the steel backs on the 30's is well fat, plenty to thin down

unless of course your verg, who would remove the soft bearing side to a make a long lasting steel thrust washer

I always take a few thou. of the front of the thrusts to flatten them out before taking most of it off the back

After all the machine shop machined down the 030 set. Endfloat is at 0.0045'' and I'm happy about it. Thanks for all the help.
