Mk1 Owner from Wellington

Been lurking around reading some of the excellent posts on Mk1 Forum.

Bit of backgroud from myself. Have a couple of Mk1's projects brought both as rolling shell's.

Orginal idea was a warmed up Mk1 but the project morph when I brought some S brakes which came fitted to a Mk1 Shell. Turns out the shell was an circuit car from a Shell Motorsport series run a couple of decades back in New Zealand. The plan morph as the body turn out to be in quite good nick.

The fresh motorsport log book mentions Cooper S , but it has no chassis tags as the front had been removed and the shell has been extensively modified along the lines of NZ Mini 7 racing. Hard to tell either way so I'm assuming it's just a Mk1 shell.

The plan is to try and get the car street legal to drive to car club motorsport type events. NZ car cert laws are tough now so hopefully I can achieve this.

Engine wise it will be powered by a 1300gt engine with Metro turbo carb and a small ihi turbo. Engine has been built with turbo in mind and it's sitting on a JK SCCR gearbox , Quaife ABT and power sent via hardy spicer UJ's.
