Split Weber Guru's?

Good Afternoon,
For a start, forgive me as I am young - being experimental and relatively inexperienced with Weber carburettors. However, I really wanted to do something different. (Sorry purists)...
Anyway, I purchased a pair of Italian "matched" split DCOE Weber 40's on a long Maniflow manifold for use on my 1014cc Se7en engine a long while ago. The seller said he purchased them at a show and never got round to using them, and on a wim, judging only by the picture, I snapped them up. (Cheaply, for what they are before you all tell me i'm mad!)
(I know i'm mad)
I have since built the engine with a local friend and specialist, everything's together. Now here's where it's difficult:
The accelerator pump jet's on one side of each carburettor have been soldered, however the accelerator pump jet on one carburettor is leaking fuel - minuscule amounts on idle (around 1,100RPM) but more under load and this is evidently not good.
Now, not being too knowledgeable on this subject I would like to hear suggestions from anybody who is 'split-weber-clever'
The only idea's we have between us are to:
1. Remove the jet and try to make a better job of soldering and see if it rectify's the leak.
2. Is there any way of finding a jet that is the same, but a blank?
After taking a saw to one side of the carburettor, (I can't bear to do it, so I guess I am cheating!!) How on earth did the 'Works' mini's blank the carburettor internally?
Also is there any information that you might be able to provide relating to split Weber's and setting them up that I might have missed?
Thank you all very much in advance, I am on this forum 24/7 practically! Learning ever so much all of the time...
