Door card refurbishment advice

The interior trim in my '63 Morris is all in good condition with the exception of the passenger side door card which is warped, the vinyl covering is still in good condition however.
Rather than buy a new replacement which would look too "new" compared to the rest I was considering trying to remove the vinyl and replacing the hardboard back which has obviously warped due to damp at some stage.
Is this easily done or am I likely to damage the trim attempting to do this? Any suggestions gratefully received.
(Or does anyone have a passenger side (left) door card in powder blue in good condition that they'd be willing to sell?)
