What options are there for grill buttons? Anything special or a little different available for my Mk1 Cooper S race car?

I don't think grill button tech. has changed much since 1959. maybe you could make some out of wood?

The best ones currently available are the ones that Paul Stanworth was offfering. Really nice quality copies of the Paddy H ones, the "Speedwell" ones are horrid as they simply press on the grille slats, not the backing plate.

Al,
We used these T-shape buttons from Japan, nicely made and very neat as they don't press on the slat of grille.

Ted, they look ideal. My Japanese isn't what it was
Do you know the best way to order from Dinky etc and get them to the UK? Cheers. Mark

Thanks Ted,
I think I will make something now, they seem so easy. The T type you show might have a tendency to come loose in a race situation and there is not a lot of friction area on the nut.

Al

Mark, my Japanese is not much better than you!
I bought them last time I visited Japan, so am not sure if they will ship abroad. May be some of our Japanese forum members can help? Here is a pic of how it looks on car.

Al, they used some lock washers at the back, so may be tight enough. I'm sure you can make some nice ones yourself with your skills!
