Legends of the 9 hour

Over the last two weekends the International Piper Series race meeting was held at Zwartkops and at Kyalami here in Johannesburg South Africa. There were a few Minis that raced in the pre '66 Legends event. Pics of the two meetings below.

Nice shots GP thanks for sharing.
The rear tow strap on the OEW car looks a bit of an after thought!

Nice cars 8-) the Red Sprint reminds me of JanSpeed,s race Mini JAN4.

Thanks for posting. I've been looking for decent photos of a Tartan red with Black Gp2 arches! very nice.

Do you have more photos of that car?

How come lightweight wide cars are allowed in pre '66 ? It's a shame we don't have a similar series up and running over here, App K/Class D is all well and good but it'd be nice to see (and hear !) Gp5 in this country !

yes,.. great pics with superb clarity... thanks for posting..when not in use ....where are all these classic cars kept ?,in a steel vault with a shotgun carrying guard ??!!.....its great to see cars like these still have a keen following in S.A. and Aus.....tks foxy52

Hi Steve, yes I have a few pics of that car. lots of patina but very quick sporting a Swedish? 7 port head. Please pm me your email address and I'll forward them to you.

Pete, the Minisprint did not race in the pre-66 class. It was at the track, but in he spectator area. I don't think it would be allowed to compete in the pre-66 series.
